Dunn’s Corners Elementary School is a Rhode Island Department of Education 4 STAR School.  It is a K-4 school in the beloved seaside community of Westerly. Westerly is a town located in the most southwestern part of Rhode Island.  The mission of Dunn’s Corners School is to create a community that is "anchored" in ensuring all students are challenged, inspired, and supported so that they can reach their highest potential.  

We  are proud of our two specialized district programs, the Behavior Support Program and the Severe & Profound Special Education Program. These two inclusive programs support students with various services to ensure their personal success in school.  

Dunn’s Corners School is a Positive Behavior Intervention Supports school.  We are anchored by our three B’s, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe.  Our latest enhancement to our PBIS program is the implementation of a school-wide positive office referral system.  Dunn’s Corners School continuously seeks out ideas and strategies to ensure we have a safe and welcoming environment for learning. Finally, we believe if we have a foundational understanding of our students then we can prepare and provide a learning experience that readies them for what comes next.
