Reading Just Right Books
In class, we will be discussing how to identify a book that is "just right". A just right book is neither too hard nor too easy. It is a book we can read fluently and comprehend the text. A just right book may have a few words that we may not recognize but by using our strategies, we can figure out the unknown words. When your child is reading at home ask them what level their book is. If it is too hard or a look book (your child will know what this means) read it together or suggest they find another book. Children are also encouraged to read a variety of both fiction and nonfiction text.
