Students in Grades 1-4 are going to begin learning the song "La mar estaba serena," a traditional Peruvian song about the ocean.  Students will notice that it is similar to the well-known song in English, "I like to eat, eat, eat apples and bananas" in that, with each verse, the vowels change.  We are using it to practice the Spanish vowels which look the same as they do in English, but sound different!  Grade 1 learned this song today.
