Kindergarten News!

If you have a typical Kindergartner, when you ask the question, “What did you do today?” The answer is probably, Nothing”. Of course, this is not the case! We do many exciting things throughout the school day. Please read this newsletter to find out what we do in Ms. Clyne’s Kindergarten classroom.
Here is a snap shot of what our day looks like in Kindergarten. We are non-stop from once the children greet me in the morning at the door until we say good-bye Ms. Clyne at the end of day! J This month has brought more familiarity with our daily routines and practices in Kindergarten. I hope the schedule below helps you really ask your child what they did all day long!
 
  • 8:45-8:55 Arrival/ Morning Routines. Unpack, check for notices, hang up belongings, answer question of the day, use bathroom.
  • 8:55-9:17 Numeracy Activities
  • 9:17-9:45 Morning Announcements, Morning meeting, Leader jobs, Calendar, Days in school, attendance, weather observations, recording of weather observation, question of the day and message written by Ms. Clyne
  • 9:45-10:30 Math Investigations
  • 10:35-11:20 Recess/ Lunch
  • 11:20-11:30 Read aloud…(most recently has been Nursery Rhymes)
  • 11:30-12:00 Fundations---Phonics program
  • 12:00-1:00- Kid Writing Or Science in Writing
  • 1-140 Specials
  • 1:40-1:50 Snack
  • 1:50-2:30- English Language Arts
  • 2:30-3:00 Choice centers…. Blocks, Cars, Trains, Dramatic Play, doll house, Easel, Puzzles, etc..
  • 3:00 End of the day routine
