Students in kindergarten and  grade 1 have been exploring expressive qualities in music.  We discovered that using loud and soft voices or fast and slow tempos can help tell the story of our songs. Some favorite games include "Mister Bear are You Awake?"  and the "The Old Gray Cat."  Students were able to plan how they would add dynamics and tempo while other students dramatized the story of the song.
