            Hello Families!   On Friday, December 23 the First Grade will be celebrating Polar Express Day! On this day, your child will be participating in activities related to this book including making and drinking Hot Chocolate.   • Springbrook School Food Drive

                                           Please join us in our fight against hunger by donating canned goods for our school-wide food drive! First grade will be collecting canned vegetables, including corn, carrots, green beans, and more. This collection will be continuing until Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 and benefit local families in need.   • Classroom Updates

    Hi Famillies! Here are a few updates for you regarding our classroom events... 1. We will be attending the book fair this Friday, October 21st so please send your child in with money in a sealed envelope if you wish to do so! 2. Our field trip for November 1st to the Winnapaug Reserve has been confirmed! Please send back your child's two permission slips as soon as possible! Any parents with an updated BCI are welcome to join us as chaperones as well!  3.We have been learning how to treat all friends in Room 4 kindly and, "fill each other's buckets," every day.   • Classroom Field Trip

                    The first grade teachers are in the process of planning our first field trip to a Westerly Land Trust site. Our tentative date is Tuesday, November 1, 2016. However, we are awaiting final confirmation. Parents and guardians who would be interested in joining us as a chaperone are more than welcome to! However, current background checks are required so we wanted to give you some advance notice so you have time to do so.
