A few comments: (1) I believe it is beneficial to take notes in class; (2) oftentimes, there are different approaches to solving problems in mathematics -- in class, I show different methodologies on the whiteboard, whereas my typed solutions only show one method; and (3) my solutions tend to show every step in detail -- students are welcome to solve problems with fewer steps if they prefer.

The Chapter 1 Tools for Algebra and Geometry quizzes have been scored and entered into the grade book. The concept that caused students the greatest difficulty was section 1-5 The Distributive Property. Specifically, the students struggled with the concepts of distributing and combining like terms.
