    THE MEETING WILL TAKE PLACE AFTER SCHOOL FROM 2:30 TO 3:30 IN MRS. DONAHUE'S ROOM

    WESTERLY MIDDLE SCHOOL

    2018-2019
     
    Welcome back to Westerly Middle School Year 2018-2019!  I am happy to say that the Student Council will be returning to WMS for this new school year!  Our Student Council is comprised of Representatives from grades 5-8.  All students on the Student Council have the opportunity to make positive contributions to our school and our community.
     
     
    Below are some important dates that your child will need to reference if he/she is interested in WMS Student Council.
     
    Week of 9/14 - 9/19  Signature Sheets and Returning Rep Contracts Distributed.
     
    All Signature Sheets are due to Mrs. Dean by Friday, September 21.
     
    Poster Board and Campaign Idea sheets will be distributed 9/19 - 9/24.
     
    All Poster Boards are due to Mrs. Dean by Wed 9/26.
     
    Posters will start to be displayed in the cafeteria on 9/24 and remain in place until elections on Wed 10/3.
     
    Voting in homerooms will take place for Grades 5,6 and 7 on Wed 10/3.  Ballots will be provided to each homeroom.
     
    Campaign Speeches and Voting for Grade 8 Officers will take place in the Cafeteria from 9:00-9:30 on Wed 10/3.
     
    Election results will be announced on Friday 10/5.
     
    First Student Council Meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 9th from 2:30-3:30 in Mrs. Donahue's Art Room.  Late bus will be available and requires sign up by noon on Tuesday.
     
    Scheduled Student Council Meetings will take place on the 2nd Tuesday of each month (*when available).  Additional meetings will occur on a voluntary basis.

    Congratulations and thank you to all students that expressed an interest in Student Council!  Any student not selected as a representative during our ballot voting may still participate in student council activities as a member, wishing to assist with our schedule of events.
     
    Meetings for Officers and Grade Representatives will be held every 2nd Tuesday of each month from 2:30-3:30 in Mrs. Donahue's ART room.  Thank you again and I look forward to an exciting year with the Student Council Leadership!! (REMEMBER TO SIGN UP FOR LATE BUS BY 12:30)
