In February/March, Grades K-4 will participate in the annual Bowling Challenge. One class from each grade level will WIN A PIZZA PARTY if their class bowls the most strikes. Good Luck to all classes.
All classes have had discussions on the importance of exercise. Students have shared with me that exercise improves flexibility, balance and coordination.
Joining us for the next 8 weeks is Mr. Hillier, who is a student teacher from the University of Rhode Island. Mr. Hillier is from Westborough, MA. He is very excited to be here with us at SSS.
REMINDERS: ALL students are required to wear sneakers during Phys. Ed. Class. If your child wears boots to school, please send sneakers in their back pack.

GRADES K-4
This past month in Physical Education the students worked on improving their fitness skills. Grades 3 and 4 took part in the practice Presidential Physical Fitness test. The practice test works on areas such as curl-ups, pull-ups, half mile run, shuttle run, and the sit and reach test. During this time, grades K-2 worked on fitness activities. These fitness activities that grades K-2 worked on will help prepare them for testing once they are in 3rd and 4th grade. Our next unit in Physical Education is soccer. The students will be learning the fundamental skills involved in playing soccer as well as improving teamwork and sportsmanship.
