ENGLISH II: SOPHOMORE ENGLISH CP (122)

Sophomore English II provides instruction in writing process skills, grammar and vocabulary development. Critical reading skills are strengthened through a variety of genre, including non-fiction. The research process is reviewed and refined to develop a self-directed thesis with proper citations. A research paper and presentation are required. Special emphasis is placed on the skills necessary to be prepared for state and national tests. Summer school-wide selected reading is required. Quarterly common tasks will be rated, in addition to specific course assessments.
