• WHS Writing Lab

    The mission of the Writing Lab is to enhance writing instruction through collaboration in order to promote writing across the curriculum and ultimately build competence and confidence in all writers - students and teachers alike. The Writing Coaches will provide a variety of collaborative experiences ranging from one-on-one (student or teacher), small group (ex: station),  co-teaching in content area classrooms, or whole department interactions.
    The Writing Lab is staffed by:

    P2- Mrs. Oliveira/ Ms. Barnhart (Barnhart: Semester 2)

    P3- Mr. Guglielmo

    P4- Mrs. Dumais

    P6- SEMESTER 2: Ms. Pucci
    P7- Mrs. Fusaro

    Period 1 is English CPT requests can be made for that period as well.

  • The Process

    1. Identify a need and make a request.  There is a "Writing Lab Request" form posted in the documents of this page.  You will identify your needs and explain what has been done leading up to the request.

    2. Email the Request Form 48 hours prior to intended meeting time.  For example, if you want to meet with a teacher during your prep on Friday, the request must be emailed by Wednesday.  WritingLab@westerly.k12.ri.us

    3.  Meet/Co-Teach.  Collaboration (CPT, co-teaching) can range from 30 minutes to 3 consecutive blocks.
