    Welcome to the Westerly Inclusion Preschool Page!
    Westerly Public Schools Inclusion Preschool offers programs for children ages 3-5. We work with a variety of children, both with and without disabilities or developmental delays. Westerly Inclusion Preschool (WIP) currently offers 8 half day sessions. Morning sessions are for 3 year olds and children turning 4 after September 1st. The afternoon sessions are for 4 year olds and children turning 5 after September 1st.

  • Preschool 2018-2019 School Year

    WESTERLY PUBLIC SCHOOLSINCLUSION PRESCHOOLWesterly Public Schools Inclusion Preschool offers programs for children ages 3-5. We work with a variety of children, both with and without disabilities or developmental delays. Westerly Inclusion Preschool (WIP) currently offers 8 half day sessions. Morning sessions are for 3 year olds (must be 3 by September 1st) and children turning 4 after September 1st. The afternoon sessions are for 4 year olds and children turning 5 after September 1st.  We currently have no openings for the 2016-2017 school year. If you would like to add your child's name to our wait list should an opening arises, please follow the instructions below.  To add your child to wait the list, please call the Child Outreach Office at 315-1582. Please leave your child’s name, parent’s names, date of birth, address and phone number. If your child has not already been screened, you will be contacted by our Child Outreach screener to schedule a screening appointment. Your child needs to have a positive screening to be considered for placement. You will be notified if an opening becomes available.     The Inclusion Preschool Programs have recently received BrightStars ratings. About BrightStars BrightStars evaluates the quality of early care, education and afterschool programs and rates them from one (1) to five (5) stars and then helps them improve and expand their quality. By becoming BrightStars-rated, early care, education, and afterschool programs show that they are committed to quality. BrightStars ratings are based on research-based standards that support development and learning. BrightStars rates early care and education programs in the following standards: Health, Safety and Nutrition Enrollment and Staffing Staff Qualifications and Ongoing Professional Development Administration Early Learning and Development Family Engagement What the Star Ratings Mean  1 Star Rating Meets minimum standards to operate and is committed to quality improvement  2 Star Rating Compliant in all critical areas of state licensing requirements and is approaching quality standards  3 Star Rating Compliant in all critical areas of state licensing requirements and meets higher quality standards  4 Star Rating  Compliant in all critical areas of state licensing requirements and exceeds higher quality standards  5 Star Rating Compliant in all critical areas of state licensing requirements and far exceeds higher quality standards The Westerly Preschool Programs have recently been awarded "4 Star" ratings and have received $48,000 for program  improvements which will raise their rating to "5 Stars".   • Rhode Island Child Outreach Screening

    In Rhode Island, the Child Outreach Screening Program serves as the vehicle for screening children ages 3-5, prior to Kindergarten entry.  Screening serves as a first step in identifying children who may have a disability or develpmental delay and require intervention.
